Cambridge Examinations assess candidates' ability to communicate effectively in English by testing all four language skills - reading, writing, listening and speaking.  

Over 600,000 candidates annually sit Cambridge ESOL (English for speakers of other languages) and BEC  (Business English Certificate) Examinations in over 140 countries worldwide.

Crest Schools of English is affiliated with London Crest Open Centre, one of the largest authorised Cambridge ESOL Examination Centres in the UK.

Cambridge ESOL General English Examinations: 

Key English Test (KET)
Cambridge Level 1. A basic qualification in English, it is a first step for those wishing to progress towards the Preliminary English Test.

Preliminary English Test (PET)
Cambridge Level 2. Proof of English language competence at a basic level of communication sufficient to function effectively in everyday work and social situations.

First Certificate in English (FCE)
Cambridge Level 3. Showing competence at an intermediate level, the FCE is widely recognised in commerce and industry as well as by educational institutions in Britain.

Certificate in Advanced English (CAE)
Cambridge Level 4. Evidence of a high level of English language competence and accepted by some British universities as proof of the language ability needed to study English at degree level.

Certificate of Proficiency in English (CPE)
Cambridge Level 5. Proof of an advanced level of competence in English and accepted by British universities as evidence of the language ability necessary to study at degree level.

Cambridge ESOL Professional English Examinations: 

Business English Certificate (BEC) Preliminary
Cambridge Level 1 & 2. Intended for students working in a business or preparing for a career in business. Designed to encourage the development of skills required for BEC Vantage

Business English Certificate (BEC) Vantage
Cambridge Level 3. Showing competence at an intermediate level, intended for students working in business or preparing for a career in business. Designed to encourage the development of skills required for BEC Higher.

Business English Certificate (BEC) Higher
Cambridge Level 4. Intended for people who are either already in business- orientated work or preparing to pursue such a career.

ILEC (International Legal English Certificate)
Cambridge Level 1 & 2. Suitable for law students intending to follow courses which include a significant English language content — either in their own country or abroad.

ICFE (International Certificate in Financial English)
Cambridge Level 1 & 2. Suitable for anyone thinking of, or already pursuing a career in accountancy or finance.
