This is an ideal programme to prepare you for university studies, it is recognised and approved by Middlesex University and we can guarantee you a place on an appropriate programme at the university, providing you complete this programme successfully.

Throughout the programme, you will receive professional support and individual tutoring to help you become an effective and independent university student equipped with correct skills and confidence.

Upon the successful completion of the University Foundation Programme, you will receive the Crest Schools of English certificate accompanied by the IELTS certificate and an academic reference from our Director of Studies. We will also provide you with expert advice on the range of courses and universities available throughout the UK to help you choose the best course to suit your requirements and we will assist you with your application.

The Crest University Foundation Year programme comprises of two modules, each 12 weeks long and includes:

- English language tuition (general, academic, conversational)
- IT lessons
- Self-study sessions
- Academic skills lessons
- Tutorials 

The programme specialises in the development of your academic English language skills in the following areas:

- Academic reading – extended reading of academic material and note-taking
- Academic listening – lecture/seminar note taking
- Academic speaking – oral presentations, participation in seminars and group discussions
- Writing of academic papers

 In addition to learning about the different learning styles, the course is also designed to enhance your academic study skills, such as:

- Concentration and time management
- Researching – using various learning resources
- Planning and writing academic papers (including drafting, paraphrasing, critical thinking, re-drafting, summarising)
- Memory skills
- Compiling oral presentations
- Revision and taking exams
- Computing, etc.

Under the professional guidance of our experienced tutors, you will complete one major project/assignment during module A and two during module B. The Foundation Year will conclude with an IELTS test, in which you will be expected to achieve a score of at least 6.5.

Entry requirement: an intermediate level of English – level B1 of the Council of Europe's Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (for example PET, IELTS 4.0).
