Christmas in London

By Guest Blogger, Lauriane - Crest Work Experience Student

Christmas is the most amazing, the most magical period of the year and being in London during this period is like a dream that come true. There are loads of Christmas lights in London, it’s so shiny, you feel like in another planet.

I live in a small town and for me it’s a huge gap between those two cities. Moreover, there are such stunning attractions during Christmas time like Winter Wonderland in Hyde Park and also many iceLauriane in Trafalgar Sq rinks. After Christmas, you have New Year’s Eve, it’s absolutely gigantic.

I’m going to France for Christmas but I want to come here for New Year’s Eve, definitely. I would not miss the fireworks illuminating Big Ben and London Eye, no; I wouldn’t miss it for the world. Meanwhile, waiting for New Year’s Eve, I can do my Christmas shopping!

London is really busy during Christmas time; there is a crowd everywhere but I kind of like that. During the Christmas period, London is a fairyland, it’s like I’m going through a second childhood, it’s every year it’s the same and maybe this year more than the others.

My life in London

By Guest Blogger Stephanie, Crest Work Experience Student

I arrived in London just two weeks ago and although the first days were hard, now I am having a fantastic time here.

Since I arrived here, I have met a lot of new people and found friends from all over the world, such as France, Spain, Italy or Peru.

LondonThis city never sleeps and since I am here, there was no minute, when I did not know what to do next. I always went from one exciting adventure to the next.

Together with my new friends I did lots and lots of different activities, for example a bus tour through the whole city, passing all the impressive buildings and wandering about the beautiful Christmas decorations. We also went to clubs, experiencing the famous, crazy nightlife of London and of course we also visited a few of the typical English pubs to drink the one or other pint… After all these impressions just in my first two weeks I am looking forward to the next months and all the interesting places I can visit in this amazing city!

Saying goodbye to a friend!

By Guest Blogger Alizée, Crest Schools of English Work Experience Student

When you have to leave, the best way to say goodbye to your new friends is to go out!

There are a lot of places in Edgware and Hendon where you can have fun!Susan's farewell party

We went to a farewell party to have a drink in a Hendon pub with students, interns and staff members of Crest: it was really exciting because there were people who come from all around the world, from Japan, Thailand, Nepal, France, Holland, Israel, Italy… and we can learn so much about each other’s cultures!

Everybody was playing billiards together and we had so much fun!

In Crest Schools, you can meet new people all the time, making friends is really easy because everyone is just so nice and friendly, and then it’s really sad to say goodbye when you have to come back to your country and leave England.

British Summer

By Guest Blogger, Charly (Crest Schools of English Work Experience Student)

brighton beach 2011England is usually more known for its rainy weather than its sunshine but that does not mean you can’t have a nice summer in England. It’s quite the contrary actually; England can be a lot of fun in summer and especially London. First of all, you must have seen that there are a lot of parks around London which are perfect during the summer time to have a picnic or just lie in the grass and get tanned. You could also play sports such as football or cricket with your friends and many parks offer the possibility to play tennis.

Summer time is also the best period to stroll in central London and see whatever you want to see. And if you’re too hot, you can just go on a terrace and refresh yourself with a fresh beer. London also offers a lot of musical festivals and concerts during summer. There are all types of music so everybody can find what they like.

For example, Brighton is only one hour and a half from London and there you will be able to see a beach and the sea. So, British summer can be really cool and if you want to take advantage of it with the school it is possible! We are going to have social activities including a day in Brighton and a picnic in Hampton Court so if you feel like it don’t hesitate and join us!
